I bought it in 2004, I separated over, although I prefer to save today with a computer (more options, better quality).
It is an interesting device because it was enough to make an album (yes! If! I made one) with something as big as two packs of cigarettes.
Before, I had a Fostex multitrack cassette, not bad, but it must store the tape, and then it wears out in force to re-register. All these problems are removed with the PXR4.
The architecture of the machine is pretty damn good. It's true that it takes time to become familiar with the key combinations and the different menu pages, but after a few uses, people come here pretty well.
It's still an excellent machine to record ideas, record beef (the microphone is honest) and to models of quality quite acceptable.
The few things missing (and I would hesitate to other machines or more advanced Fostex Tascam) into a single record at a time (normal, it's still a miniature studio), no MIDI sync, data compression (I'm not sure this is always audible, but I feel sometimes lose in the sound so I console myself saying that this box is not up to my talent !!!).
But ultimately, by its limitations, this machine led to work more with the old and rely less on the many options offered by the computer. This sometimes gives its charm to a piece that will have made more spontaneous.
