Published on 08/17/14 at 01:07In 2012, we bought two speakers RCF Art 310A MkIII for use as feedback, but also occasionally as main speakers.
These speakers are used with 01V96i background music for groups with generally amplified acoustic sounds or Sweet (no pum tchac, no guitars to 10 amp).
My own training sails between acoustic and synthetic sounds (with occasional "boom boom" kind rhythmic electro), with the subtlety of her as a requirement.
It's been 2 years so that I regularly use these speakers, and I had the opportunity to play on a variety of scenes with various materials (theater, with recent SMAC or old gear, outdoor, big stage ... ).
I think mainly concerns the use as return (main use), but also the overall quality as a forum.
Well let's say 450 € unity is not bad, but it's not exceptional.
With hindsight, and experience of more sophisticated systems (ie more expensive), I think the sound is a little rough, not very defined, as if he was missing half of the details (especially from 10kHz in top of the spectrum, it seems we hear nothing: therefore lacks all harmonic sounds).
The advantage of this lack of definition is that these speakers are not too aggressive.
Low me also seem a little excessive, although fast enough you can not hear anything either 10 inches (require).
Finally, the speakers blow a bit, but the volume of a concert is obviously almost inaudible ...
To compare with comparable (I would not say Amadeus pregnant), I had the opportunity to try Yamaha DXR 10 similar dimensions (10 inches), which certainly cost a bit more more expensive (in 600 € each, or 30% more), and although the sound is incomparably better defined, broader, more respectful of the source.
Given the limitations of the fact that for some the sound is a little hard, a little cold (but often gives the impression that the neutral, neither flattering nor yucky stuff: the sound engineer to find the right sound ).
My personal view is that DXR is a lot better.
Obviously it is more expensive ...
In foot bath, so it's pretty decent, but front speakers, nothing special.
If I had some money to spend on this, I think I would buy two DXR 10 to replace RCF, or for use on the front and keep the RCF returns ...
As everyone seems to consider RCF speakers as references, I told myself that my perspective might interest someone ... I think the best thing is to go listen to speakers at a dealer and compare ...
