Rhythmic Robot is considering releasing minimalistic virtual instruments based on some original hardware's presets and would like users' opinions.
The idea is basically to release virtual instruments based on different fixed presets with only a minimal tweakability from here instead of full-featured recreations of original synths. Of course, the possibilities would be lessened, but so would be the price which could be “pennies, not pounds”.
The project of what would be called PatchVault is currently at such an early stage that Rhythmic Robot is actually requesting opinions, suggestions and other inputs from their customers or would-be customers: all you have to do is read and comment this article at the developer’s website.
