UTILIZATION

The use of this machine is very simple and fairly intuitive. Most common functions are available either via buttons on the front. For more advanced features are accessed via the Function key + pad (it says it !!!). In addition, the readability of the screen brings a big plus compared to entry-level machines (I had an SP-303).
The only drawback in my opinion is the use of live effects: effects in series only 1x3contrôleurs no snapshot, no patch effects (movements and assignments of certain effects in a sample). This can be remedied via Resampling function, but it's really live.
The manual is pretty clear, but lack of practical examples (which is enough!).
For the supplied software (PC), it can enter the world of Software (virtual instruments, MIDI automation, plug-in effects). Despite a very average and dance-oriented sound, the P606 makes a real plus for MS, because they are complementary. For those used to soft drinks, it is better to turn to Reason, Cubase, Sonar or Live.

SOUNDS

-The plants are few in number, are blah. But it's a sampler, so it's not important.
-The samples have little or no denatured (this machine is a mid-range). As against the Time-stretching is very limited, beyond a change in tempo from 10 to 15 bpm sound deteriorates. In addition there is no function normalize (it does not matter I WaveLab Lite).
-The effects are numerous and quite good overall (not top reverb), but use sparingly.
-Velocity is difficult to understand.

OVERALL OPINION

I had an SP 303, which for its price is a great machine for a DJ or extra sampler.

I use it for over a year and I am satisfied.

I particularly appreciate the ergonomics live (except for the effects, but it is resolved through a midi keyboard) and its interaction with the computer world for work. The hardware features are interesting. I think the quality / price ratio compared to the good concurrence.Cependant, used alone, this is still a sampler and not a workstation as suggested by Roland (sequencer lightweight, low polyphony, no normalization of samples, no synthesis part , Time-stretching unconvincing, no separate outputs).

I love this machine allows me to tweak the old, but also enjoy the benefits of information technology (unlimited possibilities, scalability, usability, gain money). So if it again, I would maybe € 350 more for an MC-808 (a kind MC-909 with the concept of SP-606, so € 600 less), that I be the parrait ideal compromise between hard and soft.
