It's an upscale distortion pedal, Made in France, relatively large, no lights (and yet what a sound!), Delivered with its transformer.
UTILIZATION
The pedal steel seems as solid as a tank, the finish is neat.
Configuaration is the basic, the knobs are extremely reactive, so we get accurate settings without pb.
There is no user's guide, but is it really necessary to set a distortion pedal?
SOUNDS
the sound ... It rocks big time! This pedal allows through its fine tuning and the famous sweep buttons to switch between the metal type (mmm so so, I don't like it) to a very big Big Rock type sound (oh yes! I like it), or even almost just Vintage type Overdrive.
Headroom and volume is impressive, the pedal can either be plugged into the preamp effects loop or in the front input. In my case, my old JMP has no effects loop so I can only speak of using the front input, I play a Gibson Les Paul Studio and a Marshall JMP Combo 2104 (50W 2X12) I am using the NOS BOX to add a sort of channel Highgain to my JMP, the pedal preserves the tone of the amp and you get it to sound supercharged à la Soldano and the sound is great!! not a breath even with the gain pushed at eleven! The "body" Switch allows to add thickness and harmonics, it's so nice that you can't do without and in my case it is switched on permanently!
OVERALL OPINION
Used since few months, for me it is really the holy grail of distortion pedals, my quest for the ultimate pedal stops with the NOSBOX!
I tried a multitude of distortion pedals with tubes / no tubes / etc, I kept some and I've sold a lot, but the NOSBOX really comes on top of the basket and thus gains a permanent place in my pedalboard.
The minus is the price, 250E for a preamp / distortion pedal it is expensive but considering the quality I do not regret it, for the 15 years I have played the guitar I had really never seen such great quality in a distortion pedal !
When a manufacturer manufactures pedals of this quality, do not deprive yourself. Finally, it is said that the sound is even better and bigger by going directly into the effects loop ...
