«  A rediscover »

Type of amplification: headphone amp to PDO created in the 80's in the same vein as the Rocktron. 100% analog
Connections: 1 guitar input, 2 outputs, effects loop
Power: that is to play with headphones or use as a preamp / effect
Settings: first input settings are gain, the level of distortion and compression. Then, the effect settings are firstly a rotary switch - normal A clean, clean B 0-drive, distortion - other modulation effects - chorus and delay - and a noise gate, a tone and volume. Finally, and this is very convenient, can be controlled by foot-switch the passage of sound you selected will sound distortion.
Warning: no power switch. The on/off is done by plugging the jack into the input and the removing. Surprising.

UTILIZATION

Configuration ultra sound. The buttons are small because the gear is a rack packed in a sturdy metal case (16 x 12.5 x 4 cm) that can accommodate batteries and worn on a belt. German built very solid, it is a tautology. Nothing to do with the current plastoqueries.
The handbook is available online on the website of Nobels Electronics. This is of course very easy to use.
Easily obtained a good sound as long as the output volume is not too low.

SOUNDS

I play blues and hard rock with a Gibson ES135 equipped P100. I plug it into my old Italian amp (Eko Zodiac EVC GEM March 10 and B40) and go to the stoner, at least in position distortion.
The 0-drive is a real crunch blues / rock or rockabilly, very sensitive to play the guitar. We regress the crunch with clean B and were really clean, with clean crystal A. Finally, the normal treatment gives the most neutral of the output signal from the guitar. Therefore, a very wide but not mega-death metal distortion, probably because it does not exist at the time of its creation ...
Delay and chorus are doing their job.
The sound is incredibly dynamic and always fool most digital multi-effects.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a little over 6 months and I am amazed by the machine. I have a Korg Pandora PX4 and a Boss BR-600 and frankly, the effects modeled in these boxes can not hold a candle to a real factory with my stuff like the X-1. on the other hand, it is sure that there is no rhythm or incorporated opportunity to register ...
Associated with a power stage lights, this pre-amp is enjoyable.
