Special dimension to the cavities in SSS on mine.
I bought it in June 2006 to 1200 euros, it is black maple key.
9 microphones for too less compared to the selling price.
UTILIZATION
It attacks the guitar vacuum is already quite heavy compared to the standard model (Mex). The handle is good enough, we are in the classic with a modern enough radius, it is far from the 7.5 of the vintage models. The fret board is finished! it's very enjoyable to play even if it lacks a little something, but it is comfortable seeing the concurrency at the same rate, we ask questions ...
Access to acute classic is also the great classic of the 50 => very blah. The heel is too big, we can attack the 22 but can not be comfortable between 19-22. The factory settings are correct at least on mine.
The ergonomics of the body is good, it has the instrument in hand, it holds its own. knob the volume does not bother me, some find it too close the strings.
I put 10. The heel is not a problem if we chose the Start => There are plenty of models so choose the right one.
SOUNDS
Here, you can attack with an amp.
- First test on a fender hot rod deluxe:
It buzz around the piece was full of neon ... We all know the quality of tests in stores. It sounds modern strata, but it was more the gain in terms of vintage microphones, it's pretty happening everywhere.
- I take home with me to get the max of the instrument in good condition. Plugged into a Laney VC30 its clear lack of the instrument body is flat and really nothing more. I stick a Od-808 maxon home and it goes to the SRV-Hendrix blues. The positions are simpatoches intermediates. The distortion of my bulldog is messy, the microphone is a bit easel all but the handle is really quite soft in distortion.
- I change the pickups for Custom Shop 69 Fender. Then we exchange completely. The instrument takes on a different scale. Bcp less flat, music and much more dynamic. The real great defect micro original is the lack of momentum: it sounds a bit like always. On an amp that sounds, we feel right now. There is no room for expression, it is difficult to pass something through the instrument.
- Hop, a tour to the two-point vibrato. Floating, it is disappointing but sticky against the table, we give in the voucher. The holding is very good tightening and adjusting the springs requires commme. We should not rush too much even when the stem is thin enough! 0.5 millimeters more good would not be wrong! It's so easy to distort the stem with the vibrato. Well it breaks the strings every week during the first month!
I started to get tired of changing the high E and then suddenly it stopped. I do not know why, maybe the bridges that have been made (it is time bor ***) in short it's all good (after 3 months ...)
- The switch makes no noise, the cavities are not shielded ... Nothing serious with the original pickups but with vintage ... => To
In short, the here are the pickups. I put 7 in it and I reviendais the top.
OVERALL OPINION
It's been a year now I have. I waited before asking for an opinion of course and not fall into the "Ouhai, I tried a 15-minute mag => ca kills Ouhai slip right!"
Then one sums without taking into account the sale price:
Cons:
- Strings that break
- Talon old and outdated
- Micros limits
Assets:
- It's a Start (very low but so true ...)
- Vibrato Effective
- Handle well finished
- Good violin making, copra much screwed.
BUT when you look at the price it was a shock compared to the competition. Why is that when it sells, despite the price?
It's a Start as I said above, and a Fender Start with just this, we can add at least 20% compared to the quality of the instrument. For € 1,200 you can have a beautiful sleeve, extra microphones, a good instrument consular and reliability in modern musicman / Vigier / maker ect. but not in fender. It's a Start and nothing else. I bought a strat knowingly, I expected and I only half regret. The look, shape, and the mark does not deserve in my opinion 20% above the competition. With quality microphones at the same price so I put 9. At that price, I can not put more than 7.
