Fender Mexico: Mine is probably a classic series. Config classic strato 3 pickups, 5 position selector, 1 volume 3 tone: routing classical what ... The handle is round and comfortable enough without being a tree trunk.
I put 10 because the remaining strata still a guitar exceptionally well designed.

Warning: mine no longer has its original pickups: it had 2 pickups Quarterpound Duncan (neck and bridge) + microphone central origin. The Quarterpound with a black hood, the hood of the middle pickup was changed and the knobs. The plate was also changed: it is mint green. Result: a guitar olympic white with mint green vintage plate + black pickups and knobs: the look of the Blackmore Signature model.

UTILIZATION

The sound was exceptional in the neck position and bridge: the Duncan Quarterpound have a high output and a more fat than usual strat microphones. In contrast, the central positions and intermediate with a sharply lower level of grain: the original microphone was feeble (often the case ls microphones origin of strata, and not only on the Mexican ....).
So I'm changing the middle pickup for a microphone designed and handmade by Stephane home Hepcat (street Duperré in Pigalle (right next to the garage ...). This mic is a killer: exactly what needed to balance the sound of Duncan 2. In terms of grain, the new microphone is even better than the 2 Duncan. Overall, in terms of value for money is exceptional. The sound of the guitar is exactly what I expected: the sound that keeps Blackmore typed the finesse and elegance of its stratum, but with a big headroom just waiting to emerge when you put the knobs at the bottom.
If you want to upgrade a Start or a TV: a single address: Hepcat for micro-made and hand. No more expensive (and much better) than the temptation to inflate the sound a bit with the Texas Special, which are ultimately disappointing.

SOUNDS

With my new config microphones (+ change the selector for a Fender USA), I have a guitar that does very well in crunch clear sound and distortion. It's really rough terrain. I also have a 57 RI Start japan who has 20 years of age (= time legendary Fender Japanese). Mexican inflated with microphones is much more adaptable to any type of sound.

OVERALL OPINION

I bought it secondhand for something like € 350. With the upgrade it falls to me wholesale to 550 €. Student Reports Excellent quality price (Mex Fender are nowhere near as we know it draws some say it is certainly more uneven in quality: it is enough to know how to choose the model you buy ... .). Mine is very good. Similarly, do not hesitate to change the original pickups for strats Mex (and USA for that matter): they are rarely at the top (and often very softies on Mex, admittedly).
Obviously I would do this choice without hesitation.
