SOUND QUALITY
Avalon is the quality: an absolute respect for stamps ... It does not stain, or it "airs" a little sound, it is truly transparent ... Some criticize him, others will appreciate, and I am part of this category ... It is the image of the Avalon line, class, clear ... To handle dynamically an acoustic instrument, it is one of the very best, it is "delicate" and respectful of the signal sent to it.
OVERALL OPINION
I have this machine for several months at the beginning, one wonders, "but it does nothing??" and then the bypass, it perceives that it makes a huge job, by being forgotten. On classical music, when we want to reduce the dynamic range over an area less and thus give more presence to the instrument so treated, it is quite efficient because it does not degrade the performance, everything is is "naturally" ... It's quite magical even. Do not ask him to have the side that can be a nag Distressor, he knows not how, but there's nothing more difficult to use in a studio, believe me, maybe not on the electro or is compressed to death, but the music played by real artists, it's just happiness ...
A good choice for acoustic musicians, a really nice tool, just shifted in the current musical context, but many artists fall under his spell in my studio, after he is sure he must have some other different machines, each with their own colors, but used the AD2044 well done wonders.
