Look almost exactly the 1176 original, using same feeling!
UTILIZATION
Choice of 2 or 1.5 INPED KOhms 600 Ohms per switch back with two pairs of XLR male and female in terms of connectivity
SOUND QUALITY
It is certainly still one of the best compressors limiters in the market, so easy and intuitive, medium and lower medium are unmistakable, the thickness of its force to push the input materials are all impossible on most compressors current (type Avalon, Focusrite ...), the attack time and release very well calibrated, there also can work out all dynamic, the most destructive surboostage bus drums, bass drums and of course above all cash clear (architecture employed for 30 years in the studio for this purpose) for depreciation on a jazz bass through the delicate coloration very "Jack Daniels" a voice of blues!
another of its obvious applications is the compression of electric guitars more or less saturated, it will do wonders behind a Telecaster on a twin or AC30!!
even if it still does not specify that as well on all sources (notte some voices, brass)
In short it is very easy to capture a color compression and to be fully satisfied, (which is rare !!!!) a compressor that quickly becomes an ally on stage and in studio and this version stereo paired n ' to have the more versatile.
as the 1176 original, the ratio of 12 is really the most typical sound of the machine, thickness, saturation power and extreme use (release in fast max)
OVERALL OPINION
Always epai and effective
a star of the genre, have to have this machine for those who still rely on the periph hardware!
the original LN 1176 offers a bit more depth and excitement in the medium, it is very close to 2-1176 with imprssion its slightly hollowed and with a little infra superior to the original model, tuned equal to the 1176 reissue , also offers a racing threshold much larger, allowing more cuts than the LN destructices original!
Much more power in the bass than the "plug UAD1" and sound a little more precise and enjoyable, saturation occurred (by a ratio of 12 with high threshold and release the mini) is also more comfortable with much more race on the plug, the plug for the rest is still pretty well emulated.
to conclude the 1176 for me is: smooth, powerful color but fat!
