UTILIZATION

It is rather simple and well done. All knobs and buttons give quick access to editing.
The only two complaints that I do in Nova are:
- When you touch a knob, the value changes but we do not display the previous value. This problem exists on many synths and this is really not practical.
- A "beep" that you can not disable each time you press a button (this seems trivial but after a while you edit a sound, it gets annoying)

This machine has a very open architecture, it is an advantage and sometimes a drawback because it is being edited can be a bit lost in this "matrix" which is not always easy to master.

SOUNDS

Sound rather warm and round sound on presets. But by taking the time to edit a little, we discover the power of filters and Novation manages to make sounds and hyper-sharp mind-blowing! (For it must be the update of the OS to access the filters and more).
It was to my knowledge one of the first machines to offer 5 or 6 effects through its multi-mode, which although it is limited to six shares was a real progress compared to other manufacturers. So keep all sound effects in multi mode.
Very good bass, tablecloths or type TB303 sounds with powerful filters.

OVERALL OPINION

With this expander that I discovered the sound Novation and enjoyed it immensely. I used a lot for years (and at least two albums) and I made sounds with superb.
I sold it recently for 350 euros while in its release I had paid 9,800 francs, I have also long been reluctant to sell it. In fact I replaced with a KS5 because I wanted a synthesizer rather than an expander.
So we can say that it is a very good deal now.
