1 Using 8PreX in Cubase Pro 11 for an external effect
On my Mac Pro late 2013 I've been unable to use an external effect (1176 compressor). I had no problem getting it to work on my RME FF802 interface. https://steinberg.help/cubase_pro/v11/en/cubase_nuendo/topics/vst_connections/vst_connections_external_instruments_and_effects_c.html
Basically I connect the line output of a channel to the input of the 1176 and the 1176 output to the line input of the channel. The 8PreX makes a high pitched sound (feedback) when playing the track's audio. I have tried using different channels - a different channel for input and output and it makes no difference.
If I use the ff802 interface - it works perfectly using the exact same setup. I suspect the problem is with the Focusrite Control setup. FYI I've muted the Loopback channel...

If anyone has done this with a Focusrite interface, please let me know what setup I should be using in Focusrite Control...
