Published on 09/22/10 at 11:52It's a Telecaster 100% Made in USA, finishing is very good adjustments, wood, varnish, hardware, it's all good!
The handle is a U slightly thinner than the 52 RI for those who know, but especially with a flatter radius (9.5 ').
Fender has had the excellent idea to cover the back of the neck with a satin finish that will not stick (unlike the conventional nitrocellulose-varnish which quickly this side "sticky").
Apart from the back of the neck, the entire guitar is covered with the famous nitro lacquer.
The 21 vintage frets model IR 52 have been replaced by "medium jumbo".
All this to say handle this Telecaster is a model of comfort that I find 100 times more enjoyable to play than that of IR 52 that I had before.
That said, the comfort of a handle is a very subjective thing and as always it is better to try to get an idea.
For settings, nothing very original, is pure and lasts Telecaster: A 3-position selector, a volume knob and a tone.
UTILIZATION
It's a light guitar, very well balanced, with access to acute rather good, with the same flat that all Telecaster for heel gene that access to the latest boxes.

I had a lot of guitars in the hands ...
I was looking for a highly versatile instrument, and each time I thought something was missing ...
The most versatile guitar I've played before this strat remained the classic player 60 (scratches very very good, advise ...) Issue: distos skinny (at the same time it's not done too much for that one strat)
So, I looked beside Les Paul gold if distos are a delight, forget the crunches and incisive rhythmic frenzied punk rock ... Suddenly, buying a Tele RI 52: inimitable grit, a delightful twang, but a horrible race from the standpoint comfort (for my taste again) and distos poor (normal for a Telecaster could be said again ...)
Finally, yet another sale, yet another purchase, and then the revelation: the Telecaster American Vintage Hot Rod 52 is the best guitar I have played, and undoubtedly the most versatile:
First, empty, vibrate across this guitar for an incredible time (longer than the Les Paul I had ...), we feel that the violin is really upscale.
Connected, the sound palette is insane: the mini humbucker Seymour Duncan neck is a wonder: soft, round, hot, distilled in clean arpeggios, rich and fleshy. With a slight distortion or a nice overdrive, good electric blues warm winter evenings.
And again, fine for me, this micro manages very well the large distortions good: I play a Mesa Boogie Rectifier, and frankly about how "modern" with the gain to 2 / 3, it is enough to trigger a descent organ in your dear mother in law without problems ...
The bridge pickup is itself typical of the Telecaster: clear, crisp and ultra sharp. In his clear, we find the typical twang this guitar legend. The crunch sounds are beautiful, if care is taken to always control the tone to avoid the bees in the eardrums!
And last but not least, the middle is fantastic: the two microphones are sufficiently similar to allow this (mini SD Humbucker has a fairly moderate level of output). Sounds "intermediate" while still structurally sound (influence of double), while earning an advanced acid mainly on the 3 strings (and thank you for the micro bridge)!
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for a month and a half is the first time that I expect much before posting a notice on AF because I wanted to be on me.
This guitar is a blast, playing in all registers with the ease of a queen. Including the land of hard rock and old school metal, it has something to say (unlike a standard Telecaster)
Only amateur nude extreme metal should go their way and go to the dedicated guitar.
The price is very high, but the instrument is worth it, this has relegated my old Telecaster guitars to the rank of nice memories ...
