Combo 50W lamps with ENGL watts so it's efficient!
Effects loop contrlable,
Clean channel, crunch and lead. Me I use only the lead.
Rglage gain power and master Pramper gnral,
EQ common active (surprise!)
Vintage 30 HP,
Tolex solid, solid wood and pais, grill guard near a grille mercedes ... ENGL what!

=> Short, it's simple, no frills, but very good quality. Me I put 9 because a button does have a presence more ...

UTILIZATION

Amp use very comfortable. No need for manual, there is sound research by playing 10 minutes with the active EQ. I think it's really the big plus compared to many other amps good range (like peavey 5150 ...) because the curve is now truly sculpt the image of the mesa EQ!

=> Once again: simple and effective! 10 for me because that's what I expect from an amp!

SOUNDS

So I play Thrash Metal (www.myspace.com/kraken14) so I only use the Distortion channel. In this regard, I do not allow myself to judge the clean and crunch, which seems to me very good!
I use an Ibanez Xiphos XPT 700 rises DIMARZIO Dactivator.

It allowed to heat lamps and 2 minutes you come out of standby mode:

Gain in 2 / 3, EQ 12: Boom! How dynamic! rang and specific on the right but at the same time so full pais ... ENGL what sound! Inimitable!
To get closer to sound thrash I pass the gain 3 / 4, with bass, mid and trebble 1:00 p.m. ... and one is in his heavy / thrash of the 80s'. No worries about sending a little Slayer .... And always with the precision and warmth humm!
Me, for the group, I add a tube screamer sim (TS808) with a bit of drive, the tone and volume 12 and the bottom I put UYN EQ 31 bands in the loop (with recipe) .. . Live is more modern, a little fatter and compress but still too specific on! It is over in 90 'and the spirit Pantera.
By mounting the drive, the sound is very modern, close to a Legion of the Damned!

=> The amp is trsmdium, suddenly, the notes are very crmeux notes. The harmonics are nice and easy to send. Palm Mute is dry and heavy even though it's a combo. The sound is quite compressed gnral and sounds very HOT .... If you are looking for an amp to type in the heavy / thrash is The answer to your specifications!
It's a 10 for me after 3 months of use!

OVERALL OPINION

That was a year and a half I was looking for an amp (combo or stack) lamp capable of sending me a very thrash metal 90 'in the face. By listening (especially live) a lot of group playing ENGL, I very quickly fell sound of a fan of the brand.

I test:
Randall HR 50: too noisy, cold and heavy
Peavey XXX: shit ... too extreme for me!
Peavey 5150 and 6505: very good in rhythm, but the breath of the patient, too EMDU solo sonic palette and too narrow.
Mesa correct too expensive lol
Bugera: not bad (especially the 333XL), but too showy solo pais not quite sound and not particularly easy sell.
ENGL Fireball: really not bad, sound more extreme on the other hand.

Finally I came across this combo opportunity for 350 euros! I have no hesitating after 15 minutes of testing! For me, report qualitprix unbeatable!

In the future, I do not exclude the possibility of pasting into a 2x12 V30 to inflate palm mute and increase the dissemination of sound.

Pros: - the sound cutting, feed, precise, dynamic and crmeux In a word .. ENGL!
- Ease of transport, use and solidity at all
- The sky is clear the power that thing (for 50w)

Cons: I think that we should not buy it to play death metal or HxC (unless you stick a good pedal)

It's a 9 because like all the amps it can be improved ....
