This is a 3 channel amp: Vibrolux / Bassman / channel saturated. The connection is very complete, with an input / output preamp, an effects loop which allows to dose levels of input and output of the loop (so can be used as a boost pedal with a mini-jack to up effects), an output for power amp. This is 60 W, with a particular power staging: a volume knob notched up 10, we begin to wake up the neighborhood as soon as the attack 2. Saturated channel has 2 floors of saturation, the second stage to play on compression and harmonic thickness.
The tone controls are terribly effective. Cranker can treble or bass bottom, it's still very musical, always interesting and hyper-exploitable. There is a beautiful spring reverb with the sound so characteristic of Fender reverb.
UTILIZATION
I was looking for a good preamp for my studio. I wanted to get clear sounds beautiful and more beautiful than the crunch chocolate chips. I was thinking towards a preamp rach type CAE 3 + SE. I go to my local music store (Music Challenge Nancy) and François I suggest trying tranquillou this amp at home for the weekend.
Two small flaws: 1 / He snores a little and not at night. It is still reasonable, I take it as the price to pay for all lamps. I did some tests taken in the studio, and even at high volume, it does not interfere with the sound. 2 / The sound is huge when it exceeds 3 of the volume buttons of the 3 channels. Ideal for the studio, so it will be equipped with a good amp attenuator. At the same time, this high power is the assurance of having a sound with a lot of body grain. As for the lights and hum, nothing was nothing.
One detail: I have tried with guitars "that the air inside", ie the hollow bodies, I have no solid body hand.
SOUNDS
I was not disappointed with the trip. The 3-channel delivers superb sound. The clean channel is a type of the most beautiful twin bills: ideal for cutting my guitar jazz treble and bass crankant. It delivers as much twang sounds good slap with my Gretsch Tennessee Rose. I also tried to connect a guitar sound with a microphone rosette: guaranteed income for his folly. Bassman channel adds the color so special in serious mediums. It works great for rhythm a little fat.
