15 watt all-tube amp except the solid state rectified. But it is rare to find rectifier tube amps today.
2 channels:
The clean channel is based on the Marshall 18W and the overdrive channel on the Marshall JTM45.
As there are two 12AX7 preamp. The first half of the first 12AX7 is assigned to the clean channel, the 2nd half of this same lamp and the second 12AX7 is used for the channel distortion.
The power section consists of a 12AX7 followed by a push-pull of two EL84.
The electronics are fairly simple. The assembly is done entirely in "point to point."
The number and type of output are the choices when building from 4, 8 and 16 Ohm.
Typically I put 8 and 16.
You can put an effects loop and a footswitch (I did not).
UTILIZATION
Config super simple and effective.
The construction manual is complete, it must still have a good knowledge of electronics, if only to test the amp properly once installed.
The voltage in the beast is around 300V. It's deadly!
The amp is too powerful to limit play flat and largely sufficient to cover a battery.
SOUNDS
It is therefore all-tube amp with great dynamic.
Clean channel:
It produces the best clean sound I've tested so far. Hot and bright at a time. It is subjective but I prefer the sound of clear orange rocker30, custom100 Hiwatt, Vox AC30 and JCM800.
Boost channel:
It is a distortion marshall first period with a grain of saturation rather nice.
He made a little noise (slight hum) but it's not really embarrassing.
OVERALL OPINION
For 200 € you have a very decent tube amp. Do not dream either, it's not worth the big tube amp but it is incomparably better than any transistor amp and cheaper.
I like everything: the side of DIY, the ability to make a few mods to customize a little more sound, the look he can be a function of his imagination.
You should know that there 's still about thirty hours of installation (takes some time).
I like the fact that it is not overpowering, allowing the lamps to grow without blame it on the chin.
I would do this experiment without a doubt.
Only problem: the bandwidth of the output transformer is from 100Hz to 15KHz which makes it unusable for a bass amp.
