It made me curious. As a result, here is a small test JTM1 Marshall, a cab also named as 50th anniversary but I could not pinpoint.
In terms of features, I would say that we are faced with a small amp 1w, covered with a vinyl very / too sensitive to shock, in a very dull finish for a birthday version, which does not rec out, which has no effect loop which has no separate tone settings, that is not in a variac, which has no integrated distortion, which does not have two channels, which has no impedance setting on the back, which does not come with a cover, which has an electronic part similar to that found on a calculator or a toaster, which has a ridiculous guarantee 2 years, ALL FOR 710 EUROS! In fact, for short, it was a tone and a gain adjustment for all front and a "High / Low" button on the back, add two hp outputs and a guitar input. ALL FOR 710 EUROS! (Swiss)
UTILIZATION
The configuration is bone simple, the minimalist side of the amp. However, the very low wattage makes live rehearsals and uses hazardous. Although, on a 4x12, the receiver makes a lot of noise, but it is a totally uncontrolled noise that would not be of much use anyway (see "sounds").
The tone is ridiculous in its effectiveness, but it is a great classic marshall. The "High" fashion selectable rear can be almost completely fucked in the trash.

SOUNDS
I'm a big fan of all styles of amps. But the British amps have always been my favorite. This gives, to Marshall, a definite advantage. For the test, I had with me a Tokai LS195 card (micro paf59) and a Gretsch White Falcon. Having more, old marshall at home, I could not help but be sure to have a good time.
Oooooh as I planted!
The first thing that struck me was the bass. Disgusting, slimy dégueulante and that sounded like an old bell cow down there when you wanted to do cleans, and turned into BRROOUOUOUROUOURUOUOOUOUOURRROOUUUU crazy when we approached the crunch. It is not a vintage Marshall guys, this is the Marshall sound wrong. It was almost to the microphones on the maximum gain and the coldest tone position to have a qualifiable something good in this register.
It is a pity, because the mediums are not disposable, with a beautiful color and the ability to remain structured and complex ... this is not the best of the best ... but that even someone merely demanding because we hear a lot of what is happening.
Acute was improved, not great, but not metal either. With an urge to steal a little high (ie not flat and dry), but at the same time, either not able to compete with a good amp in this discipline.
Reserves gains were acceptable, the amp is clearly not intended for the high gain, but even with my mounted micro not violent for a penny, there was enough reserve gain for very nasty casseroles old punk.
I found a great pity that the transition from clean to crunch has not been worked in a better way. It was on the vintage amps Marshall, clearly the strength of his amps, with a transition clean / crunch absolutely beautiful, full of color and millions of fizz and kritch and zIIP crossing the sound of a completely harmonious. Here we struggle with frequencies not pleasant and unpleasant enough turnover to final frequencies. At least not have been better in his life, of course.
Stability in volume was deplorable. I do not know if the amp or the cab was to blame for this, but as soon as we wanted to attack a little stronger this year, it seemed that the sound became a foul and misshapen dough. It became almost impossible to clearly identify its stake in this M @ RD @ SSE dripping. And this was also the biggest problem in "HIGH" mode on this amp "HIGH" (volume) also means "HIGH" (sound chaos). So I preferred mode "LOW". With chouilla less dynamic, but it is rather negligible in the end.
But overall, a rather meager show of force in the JTM1 whatever the strength of its big brothers.

OVERALL OPINION
And therein lies the problem with this Marshall. I have nothing against the exclusive heads, I have myself some amps exceptional and they offer me great sounds. It is a pleasure to play on such amplifiers and extend a large sum of money when you love your hobby and you want to have fun playing a good instrument / amp is not an objectionable act.
Here, we are clearly not in this case. This amp is on the verge of being a frass, for a price that makes her blush. The sound performance is not at all related to the asking price, although admittedly, the offer "readily available in store at the corner of your street" amp 1w to vintage sounds is rare. But, again, here we are not really into the vintage sound, but in sound wrong. It's a nuance, and this is an important distinction to understand why my score is so low.
I added that to the electronics of this machine, we see very clearly that nothing, NOTHING AT ALL, is really good. This is the board texas instrument 15 euros spat by an English PLC (you know, one of the video of the Marshall factory) in 15 seconds, all with a transformer 10 balls in a box 30 balls. That ... Marshall Anniversary guys!
Therefore, this amp summarizes all issues "cult Marshall." How a box that was so good amps came to know not to do something as a culcul amp 1w? Why nobody puts children of Jim Marshall "extended leave sanatorium" while there is still time before they sink the box? And that will, in 30 years, pay a price "collection" for an amp that sounded Anniversary means?
Sorry guys, but for me, this amp hurts. It hurts me because I know that young people will certainly bleed to buy a amplard which is not at all up to what will be displayed. It hurts, because these young people could fall back on good things for similar prices and be happy for decades. It hurts because it symbolizes for me the forfeiture of Marshall masterfully and worship money ominprésent from this manufacturer, which makes abject.
