I purchased this product from musiciansfriend.com for $170.00 plus shipping.

What I like about this product is that for its price, the sounds it can make are pretty awesome.

I purchased it because I was trying to record loops for the sofware Acid Pro and Cakewalk, but because I was using my laptop's mike line, I ended up having too many unwanted noices. I thought that by connecting to my laptop through a USB port, I would eradicate all the unwanted noices.

This product did get rid of all the unwanted noices I was having.

I have Windows XP and it worked fine.

The problem I ended up having however, are:

1. The Line 6 Guitar Port software is not compatible with Cakewalk or Acid Pro. So, I still can't record the loops I wanted to record in the first place.

2. For some reason, when I connect my laptop to my amp everything goes perfect, but when I connect any of my pedals between my laptop and the amp, I lose all the sound. I thought that maybe the problem was that I had a bad cable or a bad battery, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I have no idea why this is happening or how to solve it.

3. Other programs, like antivirus or screen savers, tend to disrupt the sound quality and when they use too much memory or something, undesireble fuzz and grrrrrr sounds come through.

It is made out of good quality and it seems to be a very durable unit if not abused.

Great sound, but it is useless for recording loops for Cakewalk or Acid Pro.

To do what I originally wanted to do, I still have to purchase a recording machine, such as a Korg Pandora PXR4 4-track digital recording studio. Which costs around $300 plus tax and shipping.

With that machine, I hope to be able to record the Acid or Cakewalk drums and base loops on one track, and voices and other instruments through other tracks.
