While the microbook is the entry level of MOTU audio interfaces, but what has pushed me to choose it is that I do not need more inputs and MOTU converters are the same as those big sisters.
For what purpose?
I work with Ableton Live. Samples and loops are my raw material, distorting sounds to create others, I need a clear and precise. The microbook to an important role for the composition and mixing the song.
UTILIZATION
The drivers are stable?
Installation is super easy and the drivers do not pose any problems, how serious is the MOTU appointment.
Nevertheless it will adjust the latency (host buffer multiply) depending on its configuration MAC or PC. For my part I can not go below 4 (8ms) failing to hear crackling when I work in Live.
The number of tracks read is about 40 to 50 according to various parameters (number of plugins, audio file size ...).
Small precision EQs and compressors are on each input and output are remarkable. But the software supplied with the sequencer works only on Mac.
My PC configuration: Intel Celeron 2.50 GHz 4 GB RAM Windows 7 64-bit, as Asus motherboard.
