Indigisounds is a new company based in Trinidad and Tobago who used the local folk instrument to create its first sample library for Kontakt.
The steelpan, or steeldrums, is a melodic percussive instrument used in the caribbean folk music.
The library created by Indigisounds for Kontakt features 4GB of samples of this instrument, with 5 velocity layers for the strikes and three for the rolls. It also features a transposition feature, an ADSR envelope and as bonus, you get samples of the typical instruments used in steel caribbean orchestras.
Steelpan requires the Native Instruments Kontakt 5. It is available for purchase for $100 at www.indigisounds.com.
