Installation problem with the first version (including the passage of a DVD to DVD 2), but no problems with the following updates! The 1085 version turns the thunder!
SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE
Better to have a very good machine to run the BOMB! Indeed, it is very greedy, they eat a lot of memory and disk access. Moreover, on the hard drive, it is best to have a very fast, with 8 MB of cache, and dedicated to BFD!
I use Cubase SX 2.2, VST, with 512 samples of latency, and a battery of electronic Millennium Thomann coupled with Roland TD3 module. It rocks ALL! Really never heard in this area!
Cons: need for a powerful bike and drive in place (it still takes 8 Go!)
Here is my config with which it turns really thunder
* Athlon XP 3200 + on ASUS A7N8X Deluxe
* Sound Card Echo Layla 24
* 2x 512 MB DDR PC3200 RAM in dual channel
* A DD Excellstor IDE 60 GB 7200 rpm for the system
* A DD Maxtor SATA 160 GB 7200 rpm and 8 MB cache for everything and audio samples
OVERALL OPINION
As I said above, it is a real BOMB! You really have to hear it to believe it ... I think the icing on the cake is the version "all" of the VST module which allows for a track by element: direct sound elements of the battery, Overhead, Room and PZM, but also allows for (and dosing) of repisse an element in another (eg repisse the snare in the bass drum)!
It is also possible to adjust the degree of repisse drums and cymbals in the background microphone, adjust the microphone placement of the bass drum (more or less inside), to adjust the fit between the micro skin typing and timbre of the snare, to adjust the separation and removal of ambient mics ... In short, it's really a wonder! Once properly adjusted (takes time), play on your drum machine with headphones on, the illusion is perfect! You are in your room again!
The only thing I regret is the lack of drum played with ballet, but it has been integrated into the addon that is out FXpansion, BFD XFL ...
