So, I need a good VST/VSTi -based bass guitar player plugin. Some people have recommended me Steinberg's Virtual Bassist, but my OS is protesting against the Steinberg Key. No synth bass recommendations - I already have Novation Bass Station but it doesn't sound good with the music I'm making this time. Any help is greatly appreciated.

if you need a VERY good vst bass, i suggest Hardcore Bass XP (http://www.soundsonline.com/Quantum-Leap-Hardcore-Bass-XP-pr-EW-156.html).

it can turn a simple midi track in an extremely realistic bass line.

if you already have a bass player, then try Ampeg Svx (http://www.ampegsvx.com/prod-AM.php).
