De La Mancha presents Styrofoam, a free virtual synth which emulates both the sound and appearance of the Dubreq Stylophone.
In the words of its conceptors, Styrofoam is an emulation of the classic analog synth of yesteryear which invites you to take a nostalgic stroll in soft-focus, sepia-toned memories and brings back the sounds of living room renditions of your favourite hits in monophonic square-wave. According to De La Mancha, the square-wave is “not just any old square-wave but the actual, real-life, carbon-copy, “I-can’t-believe-a-plugin-can-be-this-analogue” square-wave”. Well, for the price it (at least) deserves a try…
(Non-)Features list:
- single waveform
- no GUI controls at all
- 4 presets, covering the full range of cleanliness
- TruANAL® technology used to provide authentic pitch variation
- NO filters
- NO envelopes
- NO LFOs
- NO mod matrices
- NO cr@ppy vibrato
- er, that’s it… what else?
This rather simple plugin is available now for free download on De La Mancha’s website.
