Casual Underground has released MovBeats, a little app for iPhone which allows you to create video clips, catching them in the surrounding space.
You don’t need to have any special skills to make your own music video in beatbox style, according to Casual Underground. Thanks to the built-in sequencer, video clips play rhythmically, beat in beat. You can record clips, create video compositions and share movies.
The concept is that the whole surrounding world, including you holding the iPhone, becomes a library of samples and video fragments. You can turn your friends into a drum section, use your pets to make a melody, and your grandpa for a bass part. You can for instance add pans and plates to the percussion. Movbeats is described as an audiovisual kaleidoscope of different moments in your life, rhythmically pulsating in time with music.
