Same while speaking of Doom-Metal. It particularly happened back when the press thought that female-fronted atmospheric metal was doom-metal. esp. if it had a 'grunt male voice' to contrast with the female vocals.
Mustrum: I was thinking about bands like Theatre of Tragedy, not about Nightwish

ToT clearly had a doom influence in their two first albums.
So did Tristania in widow's weed.
Though i remember that they were used to be categorized as "Gothic Doom".

One more metalhead here, but sadly no more long haired:
Metallica - Dream Theater - Iron Maiden - Megadeth - Racer X - Dark Tranquillity - Sonata Arctica - Nightwish.
Kind of soft isn't it?

Well, not really a metalhead (I don't like babies' blood), but I'm really into violent music these days (more a noise/hardcore fan actually)
So let me join you, I will make fun of neoclassical (fucking shredders ), symphonic metal (only good for counter strike videos), and a lot or other stuff in a very intolerent way
