The problem is that there is always a buzzing sound when the guitar is plugged in. The more treble I use the louder and more distinct the buzz gets. It is probably a bad preamp. So....
If I have to replace the preamp...
1. Can I upgrade to a better one? (currently a AEQ200M)
2. Where do I get one?
3. Will I have to have my guitar tech install it?
Thanks.

Are you playing it near your computer screen?

Yes, but not ridicoulously close or anything. Like I said, when I turn the pre-amp treble up it pretty much controls the buzz volume.

Have you tried to plug to another power outlet away from the current one ?
Is there a difference with the buzz sound when you touch metallic parts of the guitar ?
