Published on 10/08/13 at 02:22I was looking for a pair of high-end monitors for a fairly tight budget. I had to replace my Fostex PM5, which I found a bit nebulous at the bottom, and moreover began to age (tweeter right speaker tired).

I read a lot of very positive feedback on the D5, and some rave enough about these new models gleaned from Gearslutz critics have persuaded me to buy this model, which goes a little lower than its little sisters.
SOUNDS
They embellish anything, but they allow to use, ideally placed instruments in a mix. As such, they are amazing precision. I worked with much more expensive speakers that gave me yet less confident in my choices. My mix sound more airy and clear with these monitors with my Fostex (not the same range either ...). The bottom is very accurate, which means that below certain frequencies, it is not always noticeable, but this is not the distracting background, in any case it does not affect the result the chain end. Stereo incredible, extremely dynamic ... dynamics. To make ends mastering is happiness. I better understand how the effects work that I apply, and suddenly, I'm much more efficient. My PC thank me ...
OVERALL OPINION
I have since September. No péride adaptation: I feel I have always worked with. What a comfort! And at what price!
I love everything about these speakers, including the unpleasant turn can take immediately certain tones when bad decisions are made.
Some complain of a low bit skinny, but since I mix at VERY reasonable volumes - I am obliged by my config. - This is a problem for me, and if I need to hear more clearly, I work three minutes to adjust headphone. For that I use, it is the ideal speaker. Actually, I feel that my mixes are more powerful and accurate since I have these little wonders.
