OVERALL OPINION
Well then, it's a totally amateur opinion ... And not yet worked with monitoring speakers I do not pretend to have ultimate ear.
My comparison was constructed via several MODELS:
Fostex PM04
Fostex PM05
Fostex PM1
KRK RP5
KRK RP6 the
KRK RP8
Prodipe Pro 8
The other models, which I cannot afford to buy, I gave up on ...
I must say that I did not listen to songs that I knew but a CD Nova with songs in various styles.
First, I started in the Listen to Fostex PM04 and 05 ... Honestly I was at the height of the bass response and the excessive presence of highs. While the 04 are very small, but even so the bass sounded very slight and not just on one track ... In fact I felt like a ringing a little box, even not too bright just soft (MP04 and MP05) ... And strangely, even the male trs PM1 sounded in the low frequencies despite their bulky size trs I find (in depth).
Yet I must say that j'tais party with a view to purchase monitors under the brand ... The design remains enjoyable trs.
I then cost the Prodipe pro 8, trs trs fat ... and not own the Low! The tweeter had a little trouble following this big coronation membrane. C'tait same thundering, I can not imagine cost a small piece of classical or above the OPRA. And even in hip-hop (this account mixer), it must be difficult to achieve not mix the sub-bass to the mix. In addition, their size is incredible and in a small home-stud is impossible to place.
KRK RP6 Finally, and surprise! The COST seemed clear, rich bass ... but still much less rough balance that Prodipe. In fact trs just nice ... I imagine dja hour mix it ... In contrast to the Fostex which would have broken the head in one hour I think.
I heard clearly snares, kicks, ways and saxophones all with acute too rich (head breakers) and low round but not too much ... just trs Submitted enjoyable. The RP5 I got are better than the same home MODELS Fostex, a sound card months I think. The RP8 but too big for my future HS.
Conslusion: the lower the Fostex are too hollow and too rich for Prodipe. The flat Lagne KRK me a lot.
I think we really need to listen before buying his monitors, I would have done a great blunder if not (thinking of buy Fostex PM05).
I intend to return to the store my music next time to really decide a dernire time.
Finally, for hip hop and electronic music has me parat qualitprix be the best ... And careful design, in black or white they are beautiful (with the event forward, very practical!).
It should be even when the cost is the best.
EDIT 13/03/2008: APRS multiple cost me back on my decision, I think I'll buy the PMI MKII which seems more neutral in the end. The treble of RP6 seem too flattering ... But it is a subjective opinion.
11/08/2008 EDIT: in the end I turned to the ADAM A7 and I'm thrilled. I use them for a month or two so I rdigerai Retailer notice a few times in the opinion of the product concerned.
