Value For Money :
Excellent
Purchased to increase my tapping and improve my mixes.
Now:
Listen Monitor 1: M-Audio AV40 V2
Listen 2 HiFi / Multimedia: Logitech Z2300 2.1
Listen 3 Headphones: Koss Porta Pro
AV 40 V2 model, M-Audio, 2 RCA, 2 6.35 mm jacks / jack wired to connect the right speaker / 2 * 20 w /
Using Mao / Home Studio
plugged into an external sound card m-audio jack mobilpré
PC Windows XP, sounds dives software (cubase, music maker, Ableton ...)
SOUNDS
I took these before I was pregnant because the mao on my Logitech Z2300 (super kit from> 2.1 THX certified), but very (too) provided low (i like that however for ater a movie, listen to music or play) but here we are talking about so I wanted computer music sthg more neutral.
I'm no expert, I am pleased by the mao (style slam, hip hop, R'n'B, Soul / Goapel ...
the sound is clearer than on my logitech, less bass, and I re-balanced my songs at once in a listening faisaint AV40 on V2 and back on my 2.1 and my headphone well it was not worse see bcp better (less saturation) and here it was qqs minutes I will work on it.
OVERALL OPINION
installed this week
this is my 1st "Monitor", I do not think the AV40 II is true of monitor seen their prices but are not evil and do their job (the more neutral than the HiFi or HP media), I tested other monitor but heard in the studio or with friends and it was not the same price.
+: Super nice, small, its more neutral than the 2.1
-: Lack of bass (but it is the goal at the same time), plop when power failure, if saturated volume too high or low
good value for me more I like having the stuff of the same brand and I:
Monitor: M-Audio AV 40
Sound Card: M-Audio MobilPre
master keyboard: M-Audio KeyRig 49
if I would take over as the Yamaha HS-50 if not in their range for me are the top AV40 V2.
