Installation is easy, it runs the executable, then the authorization is, like all products of the brand, through an iLok (but it seems that there is another alternative).

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

Very stable on a Macpro 8 x 2.4 gHz Mac OSX 10.6.8/Logic Pro 9.1.8 and Mac OSX 10.0.3 Pro 10.8.4/Logic, 8 ° G ram, Motu 896 HD.

OVERALL OPINION

I tested this plug-in since its first beta for about three months. In its final version, it is very stable.
The interface is very successful, simple, clear and intuitive. The size of the GUI can be changed for better working comfort.
It has three modes of reverb (LoFi, Dark and Bright) and three types of diffusion (low, medium and high) and an integrated modulation. The "Decay" section will be appreciated with separate ranges of parameters low and high frequencies, each with a cross-over, these parameters correspond to the length of the tail of the reverb for the bottom and top end . The "Width" parameter widens the stereo is also quite subtle. The gel of the reverb (Freeze) is ideal for environments in which sound design to add some fantasies when remixes (eg trigger the maintenance of reverb on a piece of sample using a filter whose cutoff is controlled by an LFO, etc ...).
We also appreciate the ability to lock the position of the parameters via the drop-down menu that appears by right-clicking (or Ctrl + click on Mac OSX) to the desired setting, this allows for example to keep the balance between the direct signal and the processed signal when changing preset handy feature primarily used when the SparkVerb effect send with a setting to 100% wet signal. If locks several parameters, each of them can be unlocked separately or you can unlock all settings with a single click.
It is also entitled to integrated "MIDI Learn" (note only the VST version) via the drop-down menu appears with the right mouse button (or Ctrl + click on Mac OSX) to the desired setting. In the window that appears, you have more to choose the number you want Midi controller. For Logic users, assigning parameters to commands from an external controller must be done via the integrated mapping Logic (cmd key + L).
Another subtlety of SparkVerb is the presence of the "Preset Voyager" window. This allows you to view presets and groups with colored dots, but the most interesting in this window is the ability to run three morphing between presets. Too bad for purely technical reasons, the morphing is not included in the automation, which would have significantly increased the capacity of the plug-in. That said, the morphing as it was implemented allows to experiment with different combinations by mixing the setting values of different presets, which can lead to some really surprising results, knowing that the morphing can be done between presets whose programming is radically different.
In terms of sound reproduction, the result is really quality reverb produced can be very discreet and music, its quality and finesse can easily place it in a mix (all styles), in other settings it may have a different texture, very artificial, ideal for the "sound design" or experimental. It is a little Swiss Army knife "Made In France" for reverb.
