The Wheelharp has been introduced at NAMM in January (see this news). This is a ancient-type music instrument that combines a rounded keyboard to a wooden rotary acoustic chamber which speed is user-controlled using one of the two pedals (the other is for damping). The instrument also uses an electromagnetic pickup and a piezo.
The project is interesting but quite expensive, which is the reason why Antiquity Music needs some funds and is asking for your participation on KickStarter, for $50 000 are necessary to launch the instrument.
The price of the Wheelharp is $12 500, and it should be available starting January 2014. You’ll find more information about this crowdfunding campaign at www.kickstarter.com and about the instrument at antiquitymusic.com.
