RP-Dock is a standalone software that allows for hosting and using Rob Papen’s effect and instrument plug-ins without a DAW.
The interface offers various controls, such as volume and tempo, an audio playback/recorder function, a MIDI input that gathers all the connected MIDI controllers, with channel select, Panic button, tap tempo and internal/external clock setting.
A virtual keyboard and pitch and modulation wheels are also present and you can change the sample rate, enable/disable the audio of your sound card, choose the drivers and input/output channels (ASIO or Core Audio).
RP-Dock is available on Mac OS X 10.6 and later and on Windows 32 and 64-bit (depending on the plug-in version you use). The Windows version is still a beta but Rob Papen says it is stable.
