I have a question about the USB pinout on my mpk 61, I bought the mpk 61 from a pawn shop, got it home and found the USB port didn't work. So I took it apart and saw that the pinout was damaged. I am going to buy the part from eBay but I need to know if it can just be dropped in place or if it needs to be soldered to the main board.

you need to solder this new component back on the spot where the damaged component ( USB port) was....

Are you absolutely sure about this? Because it looks to me like it is a pinout that slides into and out of place as you insert and take out the USB cable.

The port pins shouldn't slide... If it does it is damaged
