Is it a good or a bad idea for me to get myself a pair of Mackie HR824 mk2 for my M-Audio Profire 610 as i am only using its D/A converter for trance music production.. What do you guys think? Good or bad idea?

btw, i went to Mackie's website in search of a distributor in my country. called them up and they offered me SGD$2400. I walked around a building with tonnes of audio retailers and found one selling Mackies. Asked them bout the HR Series and guess what. They offered me SGD$960! whats up with the price gap? Anyone here experienced the same thing?
