The attenuator is not "0-20dB -40 dB" like others, but "Guitar - Speaker"
The attenuator and "Ground Lift" is common to both channels.
UTILIZATION
Simple to use for a DI who knows, I have not looked at the manual
SOUND QUALITY
I compared with BSS AR133 (three times more expensive for a single entry).
Dynamic and sound: I did not notice any difference. Very good sound for both. (Listened through a table Mackie CFX12 and headphone "medium range")
Signal strength: the fate BSS 7 dB higher than the Samson.
Breath clear difference between the two boxes. This does not bother me for line level signals (keyboard, guitar active) because the signal / noise for me, but for a piezo or microphone level signal, the BSS is much more transparent.
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for a few days, in condition of the stage, no studio. This is the first model I buy. I compared it to a Saturday BSS AR133 leased in addition to a scene.
Small problem, the Samson is energy intensive, and I can not use phantom power from my amp AER Compact 60 (24V power supply, some low-power) have to put a battery. While it works perfectly with the BSS AR133, which however gives a more powerful sound.
on the other hand, no problem with the phantom power of my Mackie mixer.
I find the price / quality ratio very satisfying because we have two boxes one for about € 50, with a good quality sound (dynamic, no coloration of sound).
The next time I will buy is a BSS, for its qualities more useful in certain applications. But I keep Samson, since for a symmetrical line-level signal, it suits me perfectly.
