Published on 02/06/04 at 15:00I had been reading about this product and wanting it for a year or more. It went on sale at Musician's Friend for $799 so my wife bought it for me as a Christmas gift.
I like the ease of use and the fact that I can record to CD-RW so that I can master it, or straight to a CD-R. I also love the on-board effects. They are perfect for plugging my guitar directly into the unit, thus eliminating amp noise.
My only disappointments with this machine are that I sometimes run out of disc space before completing my tracks. It would be better with a hard drive for storing tracks.
It is slow to locate when rewinding or fast forwarding.
The unit is well-built and as rugged as anyone would need it to be. It has a nice, clean appearance as well.
For the type of music I am composing and recording, this unit is just what I need. I don't have to be a rocket scientist to be able to use it either.
