« The lack of sensitivity is a fatal flaw »
Published on 07/13/14 at 05:01Electrodynamic cardioid microphone for singing.
This mic is the entry level of the series "e8x5" Sennheiser.
OVERALL OPINION
It is solidly built, like all Sennheiser e8x5.
In my opinion it does not sound so bad for an entry-level micro (contrary to what you may read on the internet).
on the other hand, it has a fatal flaw: the lack of sensitivity. The output level is too low, it does not capture the nuances of voice and you have to push the gain on the preamp with all the disadvantages that result.
I bought it because I only had a limited budget, but it was a mistake. If it again, I would not hesitate to take a new Sennheiser e8x5, but a model located a little further up the range, even make a small financial outlay.
