« Indestructible Swiss Army knife! »
Published on 09/16/12 at 12:48Cardioid Dynamic Microphone
Same characteristics as the sm58 except the windscreen of protection pops
Robust and reliable over the long term (not budge for 16 years of loyal service!)
He eats everything, even large acoustic pressures (percussion, drums, etc ...) and saturated signals (metal scrapers among others)
Its low impedance can push the preamp needed without adding too much breath, which is appreciable.
Example Swiss Army Knife:
I paired with a C414 before a scratched metal amp big sound: the sm57 is very, very far more suited to this kind of sources.
Hesitating a little, I still put on an accordion to take the treble. Result: his punchy but not aggressive, and the metal side of the source is non-existent.
And the list is long!
This mic is a standard and it is not for nothing.
It has even been taken on his voice on TV shows!
I do not see how you can do without ....???
Must simply a must for a micro park worthy of the name.
OVERALL OPINION
I have 4 and it is a minimum (the same for 16 years!)
