Built by the same production unit as low Mayones EB4, the Fame Baphomet like him so to be mistaken. And for good reason, information taken from the source, these are the same plans, designers and even the same luthiers who work on this mark. The shape is identical, beautiful and clarity with very sensual curves. Sensuality tenfold by the choice of a noble gas, bubinga and an exceptional finish achieved by hand. The violin is perfect competition and no penalty for low-renowned and much higher prices.

The handle 24 cases is screwed onto this model, wenge fingerboard is a very compact, and the set is perfect for any style of play, the end being mache, very slightly convex on the middle and allows flights fast while maintaining a firm grip on the features more "solid". Really no point ...

Differences in Mayones, there is the bias of a signed electronic active guy with a config of two Jazz bass type pickups usual in this case instead of the usual Bartolini illustrious predecessor. The mounting / adjustment is very careful, even in the internal arrangement mélant weld quality and efficient use of space. Another good point.

The black hardware is well made with a special mention for mechanical oil bath Gotoh which are a model of its kind, flexible and precise. The bridge is simple but effective. Three knobs and a duplicate can complete action on the sound. In the category regret, we can just surprised that the input jack, yet well placed, seems to have the wrong model because its color chrome swear a bit with the darkness of the entire hardware.

Finally, it is clear that the good is of Polish origin, which partly explains the very competitive price.

UTILIZATION

Here is a very balanced instrument, both in the game sitting and standing and whose weight is still so absorbed by the body position very studied, the back arched and the general form with finesse.

Again, one is pleasantly surprised by the neck consistent, fairly close to the end of current standards. The key itself is complicit in this comfort for his finishing and finishing of fret provides a "gliding" the highest level.

We quickly took to play with the knobs and audio easily born of our trial and error as it is true that the Baphomet offers a full range of sounds and quite versatile.

SOUNDS

If you like the sound of Warwick, here you are on familiar ground. Punch, a total balance between the different frequencies and this little something or other that provides a very charming side lens. Compare this with the Corvette at the sound, she is even higher on this point as the chemistry between the perfection of the violin and the appropriateness of the electronics seems successful.

The sound is modern and huge, stuffed with a punch of good quality that will enable it to cope without any complex music as diverse as funk and its derivatives as the easy course seems to slap him but to ring styles as more massive metal and its presence and accuracy of weight will be an asset. Cravings sounds rounder as in some types of jazz or reggae, dub him ... etc. are also open! Conversely, for no instrument is perfectly flexible (in fact it is the interest ???), styles requiring a more dirty ask to add an arsenal of wicking set as it is true that the sonic purity remains his top priority.

Compare with Mayones (the EB4), the sound is a bit lighter and a bit more defined while suport compares well in terms of quality. And that's where the choice of this low is his main argument. Sound very relevant, not less than that of a low placed in the highest esteem of the public (Warwick in this case), a prodigious violin and sensual quality, all for a ridiculous price given any this control. More than a case, a bargain. I do not regret this investment and my Warwick bass and my usual Jazz will definitely go into a prolonged vacation period.

I will be watching of course the reliability over time and how the wood work and I would not hesitate to repost if I notice flaws later.

Plugged into my and my two ashdown cab (1x15, 2x10), decorated with a big muff soviet for the thrill, it's a killer!

OVERALL OPINION

Purchased from Musicstore.com (to my knowledge the only distributor) 1 month ago just! I certainly would have appreciated a little manual for maintenance and a mention of the brand and gauge of strings of origin. But I do not know many brands that make this gift ...

Tested with a friend, I compared with EB4, my Corvette, my Jazz, and a Cort Artisan Fodera my friend. All on the same amp, an H & K Quantum trick thing. No complaints, sends more bass in a backstage. The rest is a matter of taste, the other being low too different. The only comparable in both violin and electronic level and there is the Corvette, there's no photo. Without denigrating the qualities of my Warwick, The Fame sounds better, more punchy and is easy to handle.

With the budget, I might have hesitated longer with Mayones, very compact in sound and very well made. But I finally no regrets.
