When the Super-P was recently released I was intrigued,a P+ bass with a MM instead
of the more usual J bridge pickup, and in white with a Tort guard
I have the pleasure of owning a few Retrovibe basses,an Evo,Zygote and RV4, so knew
what standards to expect. While ordering the bass David Konig who runs Retrovibe suggested fitting a mini toggle switch, the MM is a 4 wire pickup, so the MM has the single coil/series/parallel options. A fantastic suggestion and as he offers free labour to any wiring mods it's worth asking about.
On the slimmer side of P bass necks and wonderfully balanced the Super-P is a joy to play,
but it's the sounds available that make it shine The P pickup has a very clear defined punch, the MM that wonderful burp and with the single coil only used it has that soloed bridge Jazz sound. If only I could just pop strings for a whole song
A very versatile bass to have and one I would recommend in a heartbeat
