I bought it in a music store in Barcelona and I paid over 250 euros for it. The man in the store said me that japanese/taiwan was better construction than korean and the yamaha basses had great wood and great price/quality relation.

Its a very playable bass, quite light and has a great sound. I also love its myst green color, is great.

What can I say, for a beginner as me is a great bass. Probably the worst thing is that it is not a musicman stingray.

Its a hard & solid bass and I've never had a problem with it.

Maybe I'am not an expert in basses and I know that RBX-270 isn't a professional bass (that's why I don't rate it 5/5) but if you are going to start with bass, this bass is a gre…

I bought this bass guitar because i needed a bass of my own, a quality guitar at an affordable price. I was previously using a YAMAHA BB200 bass which i had borrowed. It cost me 450 euros. I chose this specific bass after trying out some fenders, ibanez and yamahas and comparing their prices and features. I purchased it at a Phillipos Nakas store, which is the sole representative of yamaha in greece.

This bass has a very wide tonal range due to its pickups [this also depends on the amp you are using]. You can produve virtually any kind of sound you like, you can slap it [which i could not do with my BB200 too easily], pop it, thumb it. It is very very light, it has a very thin neck so peop…

This bass has a very wide tonal range due to its pickups [this also depends on the amp you are using]. You can produve virtually any kind of sound you like, you can slap it [which i could not do with my BB200 too easily], pop it, thumb it. It is very very light, it has a very thin neck so people with small hands - like myself - can get the most of it. It has a great body shape, it looks great.

There is nothing i don't like about this guitar. But there's something i don't like about the way it was sold to me. They forgot to give me the warranty, i also lost the receipt, so now if anything happens, i can see my head up on a stick... But that has nothing to do with yamaha.

The body is made of alder, the neck is maple 35'' and 24 frets, the fretboard is made of rosewood. It has 2 pickups, one p [dual] and one j. The input jack is on the side, so id doesn't get in the way, plus it gets gripped in real tight, so there's no risk of it falling of while you're jamming. Mine has a mist green colour, it's realy funky. It is very sturdy. Once, my strap broke, and it fell off of my shoulder, but there was no damage.

I think this bass offers the best for this price range, after all this is the reason i bought it after comparing it to all those fenders.

I got this bass on consignment at a local shop. It was $200 w/ a soft case.

I wanted a good quality starter bass. This is it! It is light, I feel the neck is fast, and the upper frets are easy to get to w/ it's nice cut-away. It has the P and J pickups. And it sounds great!

Mine has some fret buzz and I think I need to change to a thicker string since I tune down to D and the E string likes to flop around.

Good construction! I don't think there is anything wrong with mine.

For a starter bass - I think this one rocks! It is light, easy to play and sounds good. I think with a little tuning - I can get rid of most of the fret buzz and sloppy E string (dropped to D).

I bought this at my local music store in Kent, England for 170 pounds. I needed it because i wanted a decent four string at a price that wouldnt take me five years to save up for.

First of all it looks great!
the tone on all settings is amazing especialy when i only paid 170 pounds. The action is perfect and the neck is very fast and thin which makes it very comfortable to play. The action is just right which makes it very easy to play.Fingers and slapping and popping sound brilliant. it has 24 frets which is really cool because now i can solo and octave higher. This bass is so light that you hardly even feel it on your shoulder.

The only dislike is that i had to move the front pick-up down slightly so i didnt keep bashing it whit my finger when slapping and popping.

This bass has two pickups. One P-bass at the front and a J-bass at the back. The tuners are solid to put it in tune and keep it there. The input socket locks the lead in really tight. Ive got this bass in natural colour which looks really good but it does wear very easily.

If your looking for a decent bass at an affordable price, this is probably the best there is to offer and you'll know it when you play it.

I picked this bass up at a local music store (Archambault, in Montreal) with the money I got for Christmas, I got an amazing deal on it for Boxing day, it was marked down from 480 to 320 Canadian Dollars. For the price, this has got to be one of the nicest basses around.

I like the overall design of the guitar, the body is nice and small, but not too small. The neck is perfect for my playing style, the string action is so close, and the tone is amazing. Thisbass comes with a P/J pickup como, lace sensor style...They sound awesome. There are 3 POTs, 1 volume, 1 Tone and a fader for between the 2 pickups. This bass is light! I play a Fender P-Bass and this has got to be 1/2 the weight, doesn't kill the shoulder. The input jack is excellent, it's not the type that screws in so you don't have to worry about it loosening and falling out. It grips the plug in real tight to ensure it doesn't come out (Side mount) when you're on stage, and by the way it looks awesome when you're playing it.

There's not much I don't like about this bass...But I don't quite like the plastic knobs on the pots, but those can be exchanged for some nice solid chrome knobs for a few bucks. Another dislike is the design of the headstock, nothing major but it just looks a little too short.

The body is solid Alder, Rosewood Fingerboard, I beleive the neck is maple, not quite sure. The hardware is chrome and so is the bridge. The pickups are lace style. The finish is nice and even, mine has a metallic red finish, looks real nice.

This bass looks like it's worth 700 dollars but it's so affordable and sounds excellent. I'd reccomend this for a first, second or even third instrument, it's fun to play and it looks great.

Bolt, 24 frets, pickups precision / jazz, classical bridge, 1 volume, 2 tones. What a simple trick!

    UTILIZATION

Channel really nice, easy access to acute, very good low end value for money

    SOUNDS

Mouarf at this price should not expect Fender but it has found are nice.

    OVERALL OPINION

Bass for beginners by Excelente! For a very low price you come across something really good! In my opinion the best bass at this price with the Cort Action 4.

    OVERALL OPINION

I use it since July 2004. It is very well built, solid, the finish is very good (I just had to tighten once the plug from the inside, but nothing serious), I've never had any problems on that side. The price / quality ratio is excellent.

I would do without hesitation that choice, but still cast a glance at the RBX 374.

It has 24 frets with micro-style p bass and jazz.
Settings can be changed 3: Volume and 1 Tone and 1 pickup selector.

    UTILIZATION

The handle is quite nice. Access to the treble is fairly easy. The shape is pretty nice although I prefer the shape of jazz bass fender in and it is not very heavy.
We can get more or less the sound you want, but the adjustment knobs turn too easily, you can lose the settings easily.

    SOUNDS

It should be enough to my style of music I can get a nice sound with a little help from the amp.
    I play with an amp Behringer ULTRABASS BX4500H ( https://fr.forums.audiofanzine.com/apprendre/mailing_forums/index%2Cidproduit%2C67532.html ) with a 4x1…

If you climb a "background" volume on the bass sound is distorted legerment.

    OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a little over 6 months and I like it, excellent value for money. This is my first bass but I had the opportunity to test other bass in the same price and they do not sound as good except Corts. Now I expect when I can afford myself separated for a Fender P-Bass Mark Hoppus Signature but I keep it with no regrets now.

The sound is easy to obtain. However, the balance of microphones in dire need of escalation: when one moves from the mid position to a "tad" micro serious is now more mushy and greasy.

The buttons look a little too easily (volume and tone).

The shape is attractive and looks FENDER exchange that is seen everywhere. on the other hand, black hides microphones on the black body may seem a little dull in the long run.

The finish is very good at this price level. The only problem I had on the metal clasp on the strap which the thread was messed up but nothing bad (except when it dropped, I picked up the body of the bass in the face lol).

    SOUNDS

Style Music Group: rock, blues and soul a bit. I currently play on an amp HARTKE VX 2510 250 W.

And here I will mention the little Achilles heel of the instrument: the sound! It is not bad but lacks nearby fishing and especially personality. Flat, flat ledge like "soft knee" and very neutral! The pickups are also quite noisy.

Before my HARTKE, I had a little Peavey Basic 112: as it was a small amp, I had not noticed this weakness. on the other hand, playing in the studio on a nice amp AMPEG 400 w, poor fishing and staining was evident. Then with my HARTKE, I tried all settings impossible and unimaginable amp that does have a 10 band eq, a lamp and transo preamp and two bass and treble contour (yes I know it's not an Ampeg or a trace but it is not a TOKAI either! lol): no result really appealing. I stay on my hunger. The same with a bass amp HARTKE YAMAHA BB 414 gives a much more interesting.

I'm not too severe at the note because it is not catastrophic amp related, and at the same price level, there are much worse and much better.

    OVERALL OPINION

Despite the minor defects mentioned above, there is a low with a value for money very interesting and gives a real pleasure.

But it must still be aware that it is primarily a bass to study or start a group. And like any instrument, accompanying the amp must be related to its characteristics, ie small, the risk of being disappointed by the result (using amp or high end with this bass will never give sound expected). I possess 5 years and this is my first bass so I want! But my amp and the group evolves, I plan to change it.

For those who do not have large financial means, should not be complex to change the pickups even if it is a "small" bass. It has recently been reviewed by a luthier (something I recommend to everyone even for a low entry level: it transforms the instrument and play!) Who told me that the violin was very solid (as always at Yamaha) and could support a better quality microphones without problem.

Anyway, first bass, I do it again without hesitation that the selection of this instrument is an excellent first accomplice to start low.
