« DigiTech RP200 Multi-Effects Processor »

I bought this at Firehouse Music in Grandville MI for $149.99.

This It has a wide range of effects, and it the way they are lined up for programming is very similar to a row of stomp boxes, where you can control what you want and set up patches ahead of time before you play so there's no fumbling around on stage during the sets. You can set up to 40 sounds, consisting of all sorts of types of effects. Setting them up is very easy on this unit. You can even personally name each one, up to 6 characters. There is a headphone jack in the back for a hi-fi stereo personal practice session. I also like how it comes with an AC adapter. Zoom pedals, the adapters are sold separately for $20.00 which give this yet another upper hand over the Zoom products. I have only had this for a couple of days at the point of this reveiw, and have spent several hours beginning to set up my own preferred effects. This unit has an excellent phaser effect that to me sounds just like MXR Phase 90 which in my opinion is the best real phaser effect out there. There are also some nice chorus and flange effects, some decent clean guitar and acoustic effects which I like. I can also play right into my computer from this box, love that. The sweep of the pedal is also better than the Zoom pedals.

I am not completely happy with the sounds of the distortion effects. They're okay, but when I tweak them I can't seem to get the exact clean clear sound which is one of the types I want to be able to play. For the most part, there is a very high frequency fuzz that comes out over it that I can't seen to cut down without taking out a major portion of the treble tone quality of the effect. It can be fuzzy and I'm not immediately able to get exactly the distortion quality that I'm after. However, I don't play with a lot of heavy distortion anyway so for me it's not that big a deal. But thats really the only thing i'm not completely happy about it. I can work with it though and maybe I need to spend more time with it yet to figure out how to get it just right.

Solid, rugged. I like how it's in a metal casing.

For the money, you can't go wrong. I have used Zoom 504, 505, 606, and 3030 pedals, and this Digitech is way better than any of the zooms in effects, its dependability, and its versitility. I'm glad I got it. I am on a very tight budget and I am not in a band, I only play with freinds in bands occasionally, so for me this is the perfect solution. To me, this box is like having a row of stomp boxes that I can control in one unit. I like it.
