4 endless knobs, 3 knobs, 2 switches, 15 cm of happiness.

It is a multi-effect pedal format of guitar, bass, synth, mandolin, what you actually want. The versatility of this box is impressive. This is the first multi-sounding that I try with all my guitars, my baritone, my bass, my and my nordrack2 sh32, a pretty incredible.

It's all numrique, you can upgrade when a new version comes out. "It is interesting because the upgrade is not very expensive (less than 100 with shipping), but a bit boring because of the sudden the dashboard is really loaded with the addition of new features over the ADII.

AdrenaLinn is equipped with a MIDI input / output with an editor software made Soundtower which is quite expensive (like $ 40) but worth it: with everything can edit rhythms including the box, order and quickly find its presets, etc.. much more easily than on the facade of BCAN.

The jack is between 6.35 basic (too bad there is no in between for other stereo instruments as a guitar), and a stereo output in 6.35 too. A fairly standard power supply, damage that has not work on batteries, the gear.

There is a headphone output, which is handy.

Small pads under the pedal height is DIFFERENT, which tilts the facade to the user, has not seem much but it is also practiced in home studio use.

UTILIZATION

Gnrale configuration is complex but easy:

- Given the amount of industrial Paramtres ditables and the small number of knobs available, it is complicated to departure. We can even change the order of effects as a Boss GT and the default is that you can change the order modulation / amp / compression, damage can not put forward rverbe compressor .... Some things are particulirement pnibles: gender to enable the tuner (a questionable usefulness but good), it is necessary to support short and long press the switch on the right; kind for the CASC Paramtres side effects must be pressed at the same time on two buttons separated by a 2 mm cm ... One has the impression of having bought a MFB 502 and at the beginning, has nerve.

- But thanks to the excellent manual and ct intuitive interface has APRS goes well the first days of dsorientation. Et .. There is a software publisher as I said, and everything becomes instantaneous and empty.

SOUND QUALITY

I do not know of any pedal that has the same possibilities of tampering ADII a sound. The possibilities for filtering, delay, flanger calluses on the MIDI tempo are incredible. It can synchronize squenceur via MIDI for all who hold the tempo of the song, including the tremolo!

Bizarrodes effects are the prerogative of the DA and everyone knows a. But what about the effects "normal"? To compare, I tried with the same guitar on the same turn my amp and my ADII ToneLab desktop. The ADII is quieter, less buzz, the noise gate is more efficient and distos equally formidable. In addition to shelving the rglage (the possibility of lower acute post amp simulation as if it had an EQ Behind) mutes the effect bee What a lot of amp simulators . Cons by far fewer opportunities for them same edition of the amps on the ToneLab. Do not care I use almost exclusively the Bassman.

The AD since its release has the reputation of being Exclusively for hackers who want to space their guitar to sound like anything other than a scratch. With ADII, yet can be simulated "conventional" convincing. When comparing the simulation Fender Champion 600 line in a console with a real champion 600 (this is the only amp with which I can compare), it's not perfect but it is wrong in any case largely convincing enough for home recording studio.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had a month's upgrade in NOD ADII (15 minutes for the update, the customer service from Roger Linn Design is the coolest of the plant).

The effects ... I had a boss GT, zooming past (like the 3030), a ToneLab full of pedals, etc.. So I think I can compare. I found everything I liked in all these boxes, including hacking, plus an outstanding sound quality. I feel, I know that was going to make people laugh, having bought a Zoom 3030, Boss GT6 lined with sound quality with a Tonelab rcent.

The ratio quality / price is a little of that has hurt: the ADII is really very expensive almost 400. But it has unique features and very advantageously replaces several multi-effects. So do like me, buy it secondhand, and became really good value.

I will tell you if I will ever this election in a few months.

+ The amount of effects available
amount of unique effects, it is really the only offer
= small size fits in your pocket
a true all in one
power supply
Sound quality
silence and efficiency of noise gate

The - the price
small size = better with small fingers
does not work on batteries, too bad
did you really need everything that this pedal offers?

Edit of 30/07/2010: I miss important function for me on the ADII that I enjoy and as always I always find the simulations as convincing:
- No reverse delay
- Rglages little reverb on that is finally too "simplistic" to me even if it sounds good
- Completely chaining effects not changed (see above)

Deeply an AD with a looper intgr IV!
