Tech21 has crammed a SansAmp, a reverb, a delay, a powerful boost, and a Plexi distortion into one single all-metal pedalboard that fits in your guitar case or carry bag, so you can kiss that heavy flight case, all those patch cables, batteries and ground loops goodbye.
The Fly Rig features illuminated mini-controls to show active status, an included power supply and metal footswitches and jacks.
According to Tech21, the SansAmp tube amplifier emulator version included has been optimized for the occasion. It features Drive and Level controls, as well as a 3-band EQ. Within the SansAmp section is the Reverb (based on the Boost RVB pedal), which is voiced to emulate a vintage spring reverb.
The Plexi section, based on the Hot-Rod Plexi pedal, is in charge of the distortion and features Level, Tone and Drive controls, plus a Hot mode with up to 21dB of pre-amp gain. The latter can also be used to boost any of the Fly Rig sections independently.
The last section of the Fly Rig 5 is reserved for the delay, based upon the Boost DLA pedal. It emulates vintage tape echo and features a separate tap-tempo footswitch and adjustable tape drift-style modulation.
Pricing and availability haven’t been disclosed yet.
