Published on 02/16/02 at 15:00I picked this up at my local music store. I tried it out in store and payed $99 plus tax for it.
The best part is probably the bang for the buck. Tons fo high quality effects, up to 9 at once. The expression peddle is killer it can do many different things. (ie. volume, wah, drive, delay etc) It has all you could pretty much want. Many programmable presets.
The only thing I can say I dislike is that other than the bottom it's made of plastic. It's supposedly space age plastic and pretty durable. I went to a show the other night and 3 out of four bands had a guitarist using the 606. The other had a 505. This tells me that people trust it. Just don't beat on it and find a nice padded case for transport and it should be just fine. If you don't like it walking around on you buy one of those boards that you attach your effects to then put a hard cover on it to transport. Problem solved.
It's made of mostle plastic. I think the fact that it's so light gives it the feel of being not very durable. Time will tell. I still have to find out what Zoom will do for me if it breaks.
For the money this is a killer effect. Everyone Italked to loved the darn thing and was blown away that it was only $99 + tax. As for me I'm totally happy with it.
