Value For Money :
Excellent
Equip a laptop, I could not take a PCI card, I had so USB is the solution (1.1 on my laptop) or FireWire, but knowing the reputable from the USB (low transfer rates, reliability not empty) I headed directly to the FW, so I chose the FW410 for its good quality price.
I use it to catch guitar / bass / vocals, plus some VSTi (drums and synths).
I possde a Sony VAIO laptop, P4 2.6Ghz, 256MB Ram, 40GB hard disk + 40 external FW.

At the same Casing him it feels solid and heavy, except the knobs that are a little toy, and jacks the rear it is better handled with prcaution .
I plugged into my external FireWire drive (on which stocks my Cubase projects) and works perfectly without power (it feeds the power supply with hard drive).
UTILIZATION
Installation without problem provided that you follow the manual (so the card's trying to light the very dernire tape). We read the instructions!
(And speaking of manual I mean the small sheet to install the full manual is on a CD!)
GETTING STARTED
The drivers do me for the moment any possible problem. I have upgrad by downloading the latest on the site of M-Audio.
I use it with Cubase SX note, trs low latency (between 3ms and 6ms) as long as I remain reasonable on the slopes (5 audio tracks + 2 VSTi) and effects (1 comp per reverbs + qq)
I use it also with GTPlayer (hte VST to make your PC a multi-effect) and nickel works with low latency trs.
Software supplied with the mixer is not empty forcment understand at first, but after learning that it is a joy we can route anything and everything, it's really good con u!
OVERALL OPINION
I have not dcu t is my sound card Premire "pro" so to speak (I had an ISIS in the past) and what's with Difference the chip rotten Intgr my laptop! I redcouvre my records and my own compositions Plus a bit of breath, even if all volumes are pushed back!
Here in conclusion, one complaint: when it is dyed blue LED flashes and sleep m'empche
It really is a terrible card and 460 euros, I think it is not better!
