RME Releases Snow Leopard Drivers

RME released new drivers for Apple’s latest operating system, Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6), available on the company’s website.
The drivers support 32 bit and 64 bit operation and are available for all RME PCI Express cards, the FireWire-based Fireface 400/800 and the USB-based Fireface UC. They are designed to ensure full compatibility of all up-to-date RME interfaces even when booting and working in the 64 bit kernel mode available on certain Mac systems.

The drivers are said to provide further performance improvements and include new autostart and setup features.

Additionally they are said to be fully downward compatible to Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard). The latest optimizations can improve the performance even on those systems, the company says.

All drivers are now available in the download section of the RME website at www.rme-audio.de/drivers.
