Fuzz with germanium transistors, analog.
Exactly the same characteristics as the fuzz factory at 100th most expensive, except that:
- The paint is not made by hand, and yet is prettier (well after the tastes and colors ...)
- Production has been relocated to the eastern countries (do not worry it's still the high end: in fact it's still the same)
- I noticed the absence of two live outside of the pedal compared to its big sister, who used to live one to adjust the intensity of the LED, and the other to adjust the general nature of pedal (I think this setting is found in the Vexter but inside the pedal). WELL LOST! AFTER CHECKING IN THIS VERSION NO PERSONALITY ADJUSTMENT Unlike its more expensive version HANDPAINTED! it's still a pure pedal, but it's a shame ...
UTILIZATION
General Configuration ultra complicated: D
In fact that's what makes much of its charm I think. It takes time to master, but really, there's something for everyone.
The four buttons:
- Gate
- Comp
- Drive
- Stab
interact with each other and it takes time to understand how
More than a volume knob very reactive: 3 volume is already very high.
SOUND QUALITY
Fuzz beautiful, full of personality, warmth, with the grain typical of germanium fuzz. I saw the fender blender which was much softer but there are really silky character in the fuzz.
It can range from mild fuzz, something good comes in to the Muse (for example). The pedal really reaction according to the microphones on the guitar (for once I'm glad I invested in bare knuckle on my ibanez sas 36 fm), and also many with its volume: and just playing with the said volume mics on the guitar, you can vary the "drive" cooool not even need to bend down
Not only fuzz that can be obtained are as numerous as beautiful to the ear, but can also play some experiments with noisy button Stab (for once again makes me think of the fender blender with a boost). That's the least useful as difficult to use (even with the fuzz probe also I've tried), but it's still very fun.
OVERALL OPINION
EDIT:
I had a FF Vexter and Probe, and some time after writing this test I recommend instead of the pedals "boutique" inspired by the Zvex that are more usable than the original models.
Personally, I have a Nitrogen 21 and I can only advise (French product and well in every respect).
