Hi All
I'm new to the group and fairly new to home recording so hopefully i'll be able to explain/ ask this correctly:
I'm looking at recording some pre production at home on Cubase Sx. Basically, i'm going from mics on drums, into a mackie 6 channel desk, and then into the P.C. Unfortunately this only allows you to send the recording into Cubase as one channel, after mixing the drums on the desk.
Is there a device that enables each drum microphone line ins to remain seperate so that once in cubase, i may EQ and place effects on each drum in iscolation. I.e 4 drum mics, into four desk channels, into four separate cubase channels in one live take. Rather than only being able to EQ the kit as a whole ?
Such a device would make life much easier.
Cheers 'n' ciao for now,
Glezz

It's definitivly not possible to separate correctly two sounds on a same track.
The only solution is to have 4 inputs on your computer. So what is the sound card you use? If you only have 2 input you can just add a new 2 inputs card and you will be able to record 4 tracks at once.
