Error message "Invalid project file". What does it mean??

I'm working with cubase SE and thats the message I get when I try to open up a specific project. I was working on it, the computer froze and when I restarted it I got that message when I tried to open it again. The file is still in the computer, cubase just won't open it. I defragged the drive its on but that didn't help. I don't know what else to do...any suggestions? I need help!
